Stop the press - Tony Pearce's rumoured comeback

Well, far be it from the editors of this bastardised stepson of the fourth estate to have to renege on a story, but today, rumours are flying that Mr Anthony Pearce esq. has been overheard saying that the talk of his permanent retirement may well have been premature. The gossip is that he and the aforementioned Mr Colwyn Simpson are organising a Spring sojourn to a secret golf course for a bit of a test run in the hopes that Mr Pearce will be able to parlay that into perhaps a whole round on the Great Northern Tour 2007.

I suppose, only time will tell.
